2020 has been a year for all of us. Now, even more than ever, Brit’s are choosing to #staycation over holidaying abroad.

With lodges, log cabins and glamping sites more popular than ever, it is a good idea to consider offering something that will give you the competitive edge and hot tubs are the way to do this!

Everydaycation

Hot Tubs are the number one accessory for holiday homes! They are the most filtered for feature on booking sites. They are a fabulous way of relaxing and having fun, and in a country where we can’t guarantee the weather, at least you can guarantee the hot tub will be warm and enjoyed in any weather.

Installing a hot tub increases your nightly holiday home rate. Not only can you get more bookings, but you can charge a premium too between 10-20%.

A hot tub offers something special to a holiday that is highly likely to increase guest satisfaction, and happy customers leave good reviews!

Out of season bookings
an you imagine a Winter break without a hot tub to warm up in? If your rental property isn’t as busy in the winter, a hot tub could be the perfect solution to increase winter bookings.

All of the above is relevant to Holiday Park owners too!

Hot Tubs also have loads of great health benefits!

Reduces joint inflammation

The buoyancy of hot tubs allows your joints to mobilise and relax, which can reduce joint inflammation and increase flexibility. If you struggle with achy knees, hips and shoulders, a session in a hot tub can help to ease that pain.

Reduces muscle soreness

If you’re an active person who likes to exercise a lot, then hot tubs are the perfect way to ease the pain of muscle soreness. The jets can massage the muscles that ache and speed up recovery, whilst heat is a great way to get the blood pumping through the muscles.

Reduced blood sugar levels

Hot tubs are known to have great effects on blood sugar levels, and can even help people with type 2 diabetes, including helping to reduce blood sugar up to 13%.

Promotes weight loss

Imagine going away on holiday and losing weight?! Well, with a hot tub in your property or holiday home this could be a reality. Hot tubs promote muscle movement and simulate the movements of exercise which can help promote weight loss – winning!

It helps you sleep

The main thing that people want when they escape to their holiday home is time to switch off and relax. Hot tubs are a great way to catch more zzz’s. Hot tubs before bed are a known remedy for restless sleepers or those who have difficulty dropping off.

Stress relief

Whether you’re using the hot tub for yourself or are advertising it to your potential clients, having a hot tub is great for stress relief. There’s not much you can be stressed about when you’re bouncing around in bubbles and enjoying the company of your family and friends.

About having a hot tub in your rental home:

BISHTA guidelines state you must drain and clean your tub between each rental, so make sure you have enough time to do this! If you are gaining financially from having a hot tub, you are legally required to make sure your rental tub is clean and safe for use. Follow these steps to ensure your hot tub is safe for use by customers!

  • Have a hot tub with in-line sanitisers (doses Chlorine & Bromine)
  • Empty the hot tub after every use (or every week, whichever comes first)
  • Test & record the pH and Chlorine/Bromine 2 x per day
  • Microbiological testing (every month for bacteria + quarterly for Legionella)
